Epitech Software
Systems has an immediate need for an experienced .NET installation
builder. We have a desktop application that compiles and runs just
fine. We need an installation script written to install the
application. The application depends on several DLLs and Services (all
working and tested) which need to be installed, configured and
initialized by the installer. We have an existing .msi install script
(VS 2003) that needs modifications or rewriting.
Possibilities include (but are not limited to):
- rebuild under Visual Studio 2003 using .msi technology
- build under Visual Studio 2008 using Click-Once technology
- build using a 3rd party installer
You
need to understand these options (and perhaps others) and make an
informed recommendation, explaining advantages and disadvantages of
each.
Requirements (please describe in your response to this posting):
Some C# knowledge and experience
Some knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, MSSQL, ORACLE, etc.)
Experience building complex install scripts (VS 2003 or later)
Desirable:
Experience with more than one SQL database system
Experience with Visual Studio version 2008
Telecommute: OK
This is a short-term contract position, but it may lead to more work
Compensation: You provide a quote, we will give more project details to selected applicants
Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster.
