Wanted: A sharp shooting Manager of Technology to lead a department
of crackerjack web application developers. Reporting directly to
executive management, the technology manager collaborates with the
project management office and other department leads to guide software
architecture, development, testing, and support.
As a champion of best practices and optimum standards, the manager
creates top notch technical architecture as the basis for all projects.
To achieve this, successful applicants will have experience at
progressive levels of management and will possess a deep understanding
of application architecture drawn from their direct experience as a
senior developer.
As a department manager, the successful candidate must be able to
nourish existing talent and mentor emerging leaders, evaluate
performance levels, and perform code reviews for potential hires.
Must Have
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, a technology diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Expert knowledge of ASP.Net development
- Expert knowledge of PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML and other web technologies
- Experience with ASP, PERL, JSP, Java, C, C++, VB, Coldfusion, MySQL, and/or Oracle
- Data modeling and database construction experience on various platforms, primarily MS SQL Server
- Conceptual thinking skills and the ability to architect complex technical solutions
- Expert knowledge of automated build and testing processes
- An understanding of the principles of user-centred interface design
- Progressive experience managing teams
- Effective planning and time management skills
- The ability and drive to empower individuals and teams to do and be their best
- Excellent communication skills, including clear and concise writing
