Overview: TM NewMedia, is looking for a SharePoint designer/developer to join our tight-knit development team either full-time or on contract. You will work with experienced designers, information architects, programmers, analysts, and project managers to build MOSS and WSS Internet, intranet and extranet sites, using the publishing and collaboration features of SharePoint. Our highly branded and customized sites often involve the creation of custom web parts and the integration of external applications to meet very specific client needs for sites focused on education, knowledge management, and effective communications. Your skills and interests ‘bridge the gap’ between programming and web design/development, with a desire to work in both areas, and a willingness to learn from your team members.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our team to develop and implement customized SharePoint 2007 MOSS publishing and collaboration sites.
- Expand and enhance existing MOSS and WSS sites, incorporating new web parts, templates, and advanced features such as BDC and KPI dashboards.
- Work under direction of our visual designer to accurately brand SharePoint sites with custom master pages and CSS.
- Work under the direction of our senior programmer to create custom web parts, features, solutions, and templates.
- Work with our system administrator to install and configure MOSS servers, web applications, and site collections.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint-related issues for client administrators and content contributors.
- Assist in researching, planning, testing, and implementing innovative SharePoint approaches to meet new client needs.
Required technical skills:
- CSS and HTML coding skills for branding (Customizing the SharePoint look and feel).
- ASP.NET programming skills in C# and/or VB
Optional ‘bonus’ technical skills:
- SharePoint Designer experience, including data view and workflow development
- SharePoint-specific coding skills (i.e., SharePoint Object Model, CAML, Web Part development, Features/Solutions)
- Microsoft IIS, MOSS and WSS server administration
- SQL Server database programming and administration

- A precise and thorough approach to design and development
- Willingness to master emerging systems and technologies, and to pursue additional skills and certifications.
- Willingness to work cooperatively and creatively with a close team of skilled developers, programmers and analysts
Training and Experience:
- Degree, diploma or certification – or equivalent training or experience – in Microsoft .NET development technologies.
